After completing the v2t migration project that I involved with. It's time now to decommission or unregistered the old NSX-V Manager to the vCD.
Note:
Make sure that there is no Org VDCs used the NSX-V objects
Make sure VXLAN network pool managed by NSX-V Manager is not actively in used
Here is the procedure:
Login ssh to the primary cell and Run Cloud Director Backup - /opt/vmware/appliance/bin/create-backup.sh
Create VM Cell snapshot
Get the relevant vCenter ID for the site you are working on.
Open API tool. In my case I use postman api platform tool
Run the GET call with the VC URN to retrieve its current configuration payload, remove the nsxVManager element
Here is the output
Remove the nsxVManager element from the payload received from the GET and then PUT it back.
This part need to remove
Run the PUT call to remove the nsxVManager element
Here is the output. We notice now that the nsxVManager element successfully removed
Remember to update the password field with the correct password for the vCenter
You can remove the cell snapshot at this point
Then Shut down and decommission the old NSX-V manager.
