We face this issue loading resources takes long time in Multi-Site pairing enabled vCD environment
When we attempt to access vCD resources like cloud cells, organizations, org vdc's and vCenter etc., in vCD UI, it used to take long time(approximately 15 mins) to display the resources.
The recent change made in the environment is: Replaced the transfer server directory as per below VMware doc and rebooted all the vCD Cell appliances.
To make the story short. While troubleshooting with our network support I ask them to check if the vCD Global Load Balancer URL is configure to the upstream.
I got surprise that the vCD Global Load Balancer URL is not configure to the upstream.
Note: Due to Global Load Balancer URL is not configure to the upstream I suggest to update the /etc/hosts file on all the cells with their respective load balancer name and IP address.
This is the steps we need to follow:
Login to all Cell via SSH using your root account
Type vi /etc/hosts (Update the file insert the respective load balancer name and IP address)
Type cat /etc/hosts (To see if the changes was successful)
After updating the /etc/hosts file with above details, the resources started loading very quickly.
Every time we rebooted the cells, we need to update the /etc/hosts file as mentioned above (Note: VMware has no resolution this time to retain the information setup on /etc/hosts file)
Note: This is my personal and owned experience that I love to share in the VMware Community. I hope you appreciate it, thank you
